Artist Biography (1969 - ) Fernando Alcaraz was born in 1969 in Alcoy, Spain. He began studying fine art in 1984 under his mentor, the late Jose Barbera and dedicated five years to the art of drawing. Alcaraz was guided and encouraged by his mentor while he attended Esquela de Artes y Oficios in Alcoy. After studying various art forms and techniques, Alcaraz chose to specialize in oil painting. He enjoys painting the landscape of Spain, especially small towns and fishing villages. His application of paint layers and texture create depth, light, and atmosphere drawing the spectator into the tranquility of his subjects. Alcaraz has participated in collective and individual exhibitions: In July 1992 he exhibited his work at Encuentro Mundial for the Fraternidad Hermana, in the Palace for exhibitions and congresses of Granada. In October 1992 he exhibited his work in a collective exposition in the Sala de Arte EMECE of Alcoy. In 1994, he participated in a collective exhibition at the Casa de la Cultura of Sollana, Valencia. In 1996, Alcaraz participated in the Sala de Arte EMECE of Alcoy’s Grand Collection of Contemporary Teachers of Realism. |
